« on: Thursday 05 July 12 17:51 BST (UK) »
Does anyone have any information about this athlete (or photo) believed to have been born  around 1887, although I cannot pin point the exact date?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi there,

is it his family tree you are trying to do, or his sporting career ?

Do you have him on any census ?

Tara

Hi Tara,

It is his sporting career and his life after sports really, but any info I can get on him in particular would be great.  I know he was an athlete around the 1912 Olympics and am researching this aspect.  I have tried to find him on the census but I'm not sure which one he is as I do not have exact date of birth.  Some websites vary.  Any info re birth, life and death would be good.
Thanks

Karen

Hi Karen

Do you know did he marry ?

This would be the best start to make as would give his father's name and occupation which would cut down the options !

Are you aware of him staying in Ireland or living in another country after 1912 ?

Tara

Hi Tara,

Thanks but I've already found the mentions on sporting sites and the site you've mentioned, it's very limited and doesn't give much information.  I cannot find an exact match for 1887/1888. I believe he moved to Liverpool but as I'm not too sure of his date of birth I am not too sure about which one he'd be on the census.
