Petronille Ferland born Quebac c.1871
« on: Wednesday 15 October 14 14:35 BST (UK) »
Hello, I am trying to find my sons paternal ggggmothers parents. His ggggmother was Petronille (petronil, petronilla) Mary Ferland. I have her with her husband George and children on most of the US censuses (she emigrated to US in 1899) and her parents are listed as french canadians. From her childrens birth records I can see that her maiden was Nadeau. She died in Massachusetts in 1953. I havent found the marriage cert for her and George. I have mainly used familysearch for this information. I would love to take the tree back another generation 😃😃

Thats fantastic, that you Sandra. Just one more question, if anyone could tell me, is there a way to obtain marriage, birth and death certs for canadians and how far back do they go?

In Quebec, the civil registers of births (baptisms), marriages and deaths (burials), which date from 1621, were duplicate copies of the church registers. All of the pre-1900 records can be consulted at each of the nine regional offices of Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec.
