How old was Alfred in 1936? 

If he died in 1967 - he was born around 1899

If he died in 1973 as Henry Alfred then he was born 16.5.1893

Have you checked the 1911 census?  The free index shows a Richard Henry Greenfield aged 45 in Brighton who has a son Alfred

Good Morning CaroleW,
I have now checked the 1911 census and found Alfred. I took the £6.95 subcription so I could view the household which confrimed. So now I have 59 credits left to play with LOL.
