Please help find a death
« on: Friday 04 July 14 14:34 BST (UK) »
Can some one please help locate a death of Mary Ann Morgan.  On the 1871 (details below) she is listed wife of John Morgan.  She gave birth to son William born Sept 1871 and a second son Emrys 1873 both Fleur de Lis.  A third son named John James was born 1879 in Llanwrtwyd.  On the 1881 for Bargoed, husband John Morgan, is listed on the 1881 as widow.    I have tried FreeBMD but unable to find a death of suitable age.

Where did you find the John James?Until your last post I also couldn't find John in 1881.On that Census his youngest child is Emrys born c 1876.Now I couldn't find a death for Mary Ann in c 1880 but I'm sure I noticed one in 1875 which as ages were given on Census entries would fit with Emrys's birth.

There is a Bedwellty burial for an Ann Morgan of Bargoed aged 31 years on the 2 Mar 1878, does the age fit your Mary Ann?

Hi Rowley
As you can see by the info transcribed from inside Margaret Morgan's bible, a child John James was born 1879, its possible Mary Ann died giving birth?

Well your info from the Family Bible explains why I couldn't find John etc after 1881!

Of course if they had remained in the UK the 1891 census and any later ones would have shown more info about the John James Morgan.Having said all that,I'm not finding a birth consistent with the entry in the Family Bible?

How about this death - Mary Ann Morgan, 26, Bedwellty 11a 81, June 1875.  It's mistranscribed on FreeBMD as Mary Alice.  Emrys was born in 1975, not 1873, registered Bedwellty 11a 141 June 1875.

I wonder whether John James was Margaret's son not Mary Ann's? Llanwrtyd is where she comes from.  Born before she married John Morgan, maybe his, maybe another father?
