On 26 Nov. 1895, it said in the Boston Daily Globe that a verdict of $500 was given to Laura E. Dickson.  It said she had sought $10,000 in damages for personal injuries.  She was struck by an electric car on Broadway near Mt. Pleasant St. in Somerville on 12 Jan. 1894 when she exited one of the cars and was crossing the tracks to get to the sidewalk.

The Boston Herald from 28 Jun. 1896 says there was a verdict against the railway for $2,000 in the second session of the Superior Court.

Hmm - $500 in 1895 and then they sued again 1896 and got $2000?  I wonder if both suits involved the same incident or were they scamming the railroad?

I took it as they appealed the first verdict, but I'm not positive.
