Perhaps you should have headed the thread "Looking for the birth of Florence Clewes"

1921 Census for Florence B Adams gives a variation of the birth year but says father born England and Mother Scotland which would be correct.

If her birth registration is on line it is very well hidden. The website posted by *Sandra* does give a registration number which could be used to look for up that birth at the Ontario Archives or also at your local Family History Center (the familysearch folk). This would give you parents names and you would know if it was the correct Florence.

Another option would be to purchase the marriage cert from Manitoba. This should have parents names (although no guarantee) and the cost is quite reasonable.

To be sure, I checked obits in the newspaper...
Globe and Mail, Dec 29, 1923, page 14.  Death of Catherine, wife of William D Clewes - at her home on Dec 28.  Funeral on the 31st - buried Mount Pleasant. 

William isn't listed as "late", so I think he is alive in 1923.  That 1958 obituary looks like it might be for your William.

William Dickson Clewes died in 1958... obit in both the Star and the Globe. 

He died in Toronto on Nov 24, 1958.  Husband of the late Catherine Johnston, father of Gladys (Mrs Milton Burk) of Stouffville, Edythe (Mrs William Hodgson), Kathleen (Mrs Helmer Graham), Ralph, Clifton and Leonard of Winnipeg.  Brother of Mac of New Jersey and Flossie of California.  Buried Mount Pleasant
