Help required James Mooney born County Derry or County Donegal
« on: Friday 28 March 14 07:51 GMT (UK) »
According to the 1901 census James Mooney was age 65 Farmer living at 27 in Eskaheen (Kilderry, Donegal born County Donegal.

If I have found the right James Mooney on 1911 census he is now living at house 2 in Eskaheen Kilderry, Donegal age 76 but it says he was born County Derry.

I know from James marriage to Mary McBride 1864 Eskaheen Donegal that his father was Patrick Mooney.

I would love to find James birth c1836 to determine his mother and siblings but I do not know where to look.

Can anyone help me to get back a generation.

If you look at the entries on the page below

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~donegal/isklp.htm

the sponsors at baptism are probably siblings. (Edward,Mary,Thomas).

Thank you for your reply and giving me the link to this page.

It would be great if I could confirm your guess that the sponsors of these Mooney christening were James's siblings.

Hi rathmore

Thanks for that link. I had the information about the marriage. It is apity that the birth registrations on Familysearch do not give the parents names.

I really appreciate you looking this information up for me.
