Derrylaughan
« on: Thursday 10 October 13 23:48 BST (UK) »
Hi,
Can anyone tell me if Derrylaughan is in the parish of Drumholm? Its not a name I am familiar with.

I am looking at a marriage in 1793 in Drumholm CofI. The bride's address is given as Derrylaughan and as the marriage was usually in the bride's parish is am assuming that it's in Dumholm. Can anyone confirm this please? Have tried to look it up to no avail.
Regards,
Carol

You can use this site to find townlands and parishes in Ireland (the civil parish is usually the same as the Church of Ireland parish)-

Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Hi, If you haven't found the townland yet it's probably Derrylahan/Derrylaughan, Parish of Kilcar, Donegal

Hi,
Many thanks for your replies. I must admit I have forgotten about Seanruad and yes, I did conclude that it might be the Glenties area, or now more likely Kilcar. Not what I wanted to hear - but married in Drumholm and all children baptised there??? Possibly working in the area??
Oh well!
Thanks again,
Carol
