James McLaughlin died 18654 in Tievermore, County Donegal
« on: Tuesday 07 January 14 22:36 GMT (UK) »
I was wondering if someone could hemp find a little more info about:
James McLaughlin b. 1789 d. 1864
His wife is believed to be named Sidney

His death is listed in an Australian newspaper as his daughter and son-in-law moved to Australia in 1842.

Where is Tievermore?
Is there a burial record or a more substantial obituary in a Donegal newspaper?

Any help appreciated

If you go to http://www.proni.gov.uk/ you will see Will Calendars where you can search for a Will... Just put in the name don't be too exact with dates as some Wills can take years if there are complications, you can then hover over the results to get basic details then click to view the complete record

Unfortunately the Will Calendar is "pre 1858"

James McLaughlin died in 1864 which is AFTER 1858 but I don't see a Will Extract for him listed. On the PRONI site you have the option of narrowing down results by date of death as as well date of administration, etc.

Yes indeed, it says on the site...."The database covers the period 1858-1919 and 1922-1943.  Part of 1921 has been added, with remaining entries for 1920-1921 to follow in the near future."

I can't search for some reason...possibly because I'm using Firefox??
