MILLER family - Co. Armagh
« on: Tuesday 22 August 06 19:03 BST (UK) »
Hello!

I am currently trying to research my MILLER roots. The information I currently have is:

William Miller (B: probably Co. Armagh, IRL)
               |
William Miller (B: Bef. 1858 - Coolkill, Co. Armagh, IRL) married Ann Jane Ferguson (B: Bef. 1858 - Caledon, Co. Tyrone, IRL) 1858 Tynan parish, Co. Armagh, IRL
               |
William "Jim" Miller (B: 1865 - Corfehan, Co. Armagh, IRL) married Flora Wilkes (B: 1868 - Chipping Campden, Gloucester, ENG) 1899 Bath, Somerset, ENG (William "Jim" Miller's residence at the time of the wedding recorded as Rathaspeck, Co. Wexford, IRL)
               |
William Miller (B: 1901 - D: 1901 Edenacrannon/Castlecaulfield, Co. Tyrone, IRL)
Leslie Miller (B: 1902 - Edenacrannon/Castlecaulfield, Co. Tyrone, IRL)
William Miller (B: 1903 - Edenacrannon/Castlecaulfield, Co. Tyrone, IRL)

1912 William "Jim" Miller immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba, CAN
1915 Flora (nee Wilkes) and her two sons; Leslie and William followed.

William "Jim" Miller was my gr-gr-grandfather and Leslie Miller was my grandfather.

If anyone has additional information on the people above, or on the Miller name in Co. Armagh I would enjoy talking with you.

Thank you!

I notice your surname interests include Ferguson, Paterson, and McLean.  they are also interests of mine.  I have Thomas Paterson and Maria Ferguson who married in Armagh in 1858 and later moved to Scotland.  Do you know if we have a connection?

Unfortunately I don't think so. My Paterson's are on my mom's side and Ferguson's on my dad's (at least so far in my research).

Thanks for your reply!

Hi, I have struggled mightily to contact you. My family is the MacDougall's who immigrated to Finch. My gggrandmother was a Paterson from the village of Crackaig. If you want any information I can give to you what I know. Just contact me at: * and we can talk. I live on the west coast so am a neighbour!

I am looking for a Miller Family of Armagh too.  I don't have much details unfortunately, my Great Grandmother came out to New Zealand,  They were Protestants.  I would have to look up her Christian name when I get home from work.  I think it is Mary Miller
Craig, Smith, Stewart, Mitchell - Scotland
Tipton - Wigan - UK
Miller, Smyth - Ireland
Sands - Tasmania - UK
