Hi Dave, I was born in Coral Street, when you turned into Coral Street from Downing Street we lived on the right in the 5th house past a pub called the Horse and Jockey, attended Mansfield Street School between 1950 and 1958 and my mother actually helped out in Fanny Eastwoods Shop, happy days!

Mansfield street school and Coral Street, Ardwick
« Reply #21 on: Thursday 21 August 14 00:16 BST (UK) »
I came across this site by accident whilst trying to get some history of ardwick and came across a posting enquiring about the above.  I was actually born in Coral Street in 1950 and attended Mansfield Street nursery and juniors until 1961. My family was one of the last to move out of Coral Street before demolition of the houses. I may have some details that I can share.

Hi Davidjnr, I was born in Coral Strret and I do have a couple of photographs but they were taken probably 55 years ago. You can see some of the house frontages and glimpses of the school. I lived right opposite Mansfield Street school on Coral Street. I will dig the photos out to see what's in the background.

Fantastic. I have one also, it is a picture of my father, my uncle and my aunt.

I have added a picture of 37 Corel Street ruins from 1952.

Just viewed the photos. The only Holts I knew actually lived in Percival Street, Tommy Holt. I must get a lesson on how to post the photos I have which are the other end of Coral Street closer to Ardwick Green. Cheers.
