Sorry - yes I am looking for Lily Turner but I have other photos - one of which was sent to Lily signed Violet - surname illegible.

I have managed to find out that she was part of a trio called "The Hungaria Trio"   so I am looking for her also and information on J. W.Hall (male) who also sent Lily a picture.    His picture has the words Old Star Company October 29 1923.

Looking at variety show ads in 1923 there's this one in the  Burnley News of 12 September:

OLD-TIME STARS
Florrie Gallimore, J W Hall, Tome E Royal, Tom Carolan, Johnny Curran and Arthur Carthy, Marcus Boyle, Lily Currie, Phil Herman, supported by Prissy & Frank Delco, jugglers, and Les Zasmas, novelty gymnastic act

If you have FindMyPast here is a photo of some of the Old-Time Stars on that tour, including JW Hall and Lily Currie http://search.findmypast.co.uk/bna/viewarticle?id=bl%2f0000273%2f19230626%2f114

tried the Newspaper Archive site but can only see £9.95 as being the minimum subscription  - where is the £1 one

They aren't shouting it from the rooftops (as a previous subscriber I got the info in an email) but if you enter SEPT14 at question 2 'Do you have a promotion code?' and click on Apply Code, you should get the reduction to £1

Had a reply back from Equity -  This is it

"Unfortunately Equity is unable to assist as we do not hold the type of information you are searching for.

You could try the theatre archives at the V&A or perhaps the British Library.
