It has a plain back and is the same size as the other's.

Mid-late 1880's. Unusual to see a chignon like this as it was about a decade out of date. Just goes to show that some women still found them desirable.

Below is another photograph from Pete's album, the lady is holding what looks to be a tennis racket do you think this is just a "Prop" or would this have been the type of dress ladies wore to play tennis.
Also what year would you think it was taken, the other photographs have all been 1870's to the late 1890's would this have been the same?.

I think the daters will confirm this is the sort of outfit you wore to play tennis in those days.

I am just imagining having a good run to get the ball in it.  I know ladies don't perspire, but only glow, and I bet you'd be glowing a good deal after a sharp set of tennis.
