Divorce of Esther Ann Shaw and John Ridings Shaw?

Hello,

I was wondering if there was a record of a divorce between these two individuals.  They were still married but not living together for the 1911 census as John was living with his sister and remained at that house.  Esther Ann was living with her daughter Elsie Shaw elsewhere.  John Ridings Shaw died in the 1950s and in his will left his effects to a spinster and a married woman, not his wife or child. Also, is there a remarriage of an Esther Ann Shaw (nee Etchells) to anyone?  These individuals were from the Oldham area.

Have you checked the National Archives?

If they weren't divorced befure 1937, you'll have to apply to HMCTS and that will cost£65 for a 10 year search

Other than that, check the local newspapers to see if it was newsworthy enough.

At the end of the day though, there may not be a divorce to find.
