Sydney Morning Herald, but it is not what is referred to as a LOCAL paper it is delivered Statewide and around the country.

There are around 45 local papers in Sydney.

I'm onto a hopeless task  :-(  However I am known to rise to a challenge. Just want to track down my catering college friend from 30 years ago. Have tried social media no luck....what newspaper would you use ?....Thank you for your time x

But how do you know that the person is in the Sydney area. Could be in Las Vegas, Nevada or London, Zurich, Paris. A catering college graduate could be anywhere! And good luck to them. They deserve it.

Hi

The Daily Telegraph, a NSW based newspaper, has an  "IN SEARCH " column which is published daily in their newspaper.

They say "Having a reunion, looking for friends or the elusive Item?

Send you Search Request to
yoursay@dailytelegraph.com.au

or write to In Search P.O. Box 2808 GPO Sydney NSW 2001

I think it is free so well worth a try

Well .. I'm not much of a newspaper reader. I've never ever read those parts of the paper.

I think things like the phone book (http://www.whitepages.com.au/), then electoral rolls might be better bets? Of course the phone book only lists land lines .. not cell phones. Not had a land line for a while either {will there one day be a 'cell phone book' .. like the old Sands Directory?}. So if the phone book does not work .. then your stuck with the electoral rolls.

Hi

I think the newspaper is a good place to start, even if the person themselves doesn't see it somebody who knows them might. Electoral Rolls have restricted access, you can really only check your own enrolment now. White pages does not have first names, only initials, and not everyone is included.
