McKane family - Rosa/ie Arnold and Henrietta (Etta)
« on: Monday 14 July 14 10:44 BST (UK) »
Rosa travelled with her 2 children on the ship Lake Manitoba from Belfast on 22/7/1909. They were the family of William McKane.
Listed in the 1909 Canadian census in Winnipeg lodging with William and Janet Wilson are Roda and Arnold Mackane.
Etta is listed in the same census boarding with Walter and J G Rigley.
Etta possible marriage ?
Any further details on this family greatly appreciated.

This might be a marriage for Henrietta McKane to Edward George McGowan 17/12/1925 in Winnipeg Manitoba
Maybe the mother Rose McKane married John Watson 19/4/1918 Winnipeg Manitoba

Hi Debbie16,

A 1921 Census Winnipeg Manitoba for John Watson,

Watson, John 36, head, b. Scotland, blacksmith, yr. of immigration 1900
Watson, Rose 36, wife, b. Ireland, yr. of immigration 1905
Watson, Arnold 18, son, b. Ireland, clerk, yr. of immigration 1905

Could be your Rose and Arnold.

Cheers,
DB

1916 census John Watson 33 born Scotland   Blacksmith
Rose Watson born 1884 Ireland age 32 immigration year 1906
Arnold Watson born 1903 Ireland immigration year 1906
So if this is the same Rose ? she was using his name before the marriage  ???

Hi Debbie16,

It seems Etta also went by the surname Watson in 1916,

1916 Census Winnipeg Centre,
