Hi.  New to the site so please bear with me

Really don't know much about my family & would appreciate any help or advise to trace any relatives

My paternal great grandparents are

Walter Potts Davidson & Jeanie Anne Davidson(mcgillivray) who married 17/8/1906 in King Edward (not sure where that is)

Their son Walter Potts Davidson married Jeanie Richardson, 8/2/1913 from Airdrie, Scotland. They married 11/4/1941 in Airdrie.  her parents were Alexander lyle Richardson Davidson & Elizabeth Richardson (smith), 65 Waverley drive, Airdrie. I believe they married on 30/12/1898

Also got details of maternal grandparents but would really appreciate any further info on my paternal family if anyone has anything

From their marriage in 1906, Walter's parents were Andrew Davidson, station master and Agnes, maiden name, Potts

Jeannie's were William McGillivray, Cattleman and Margaret, m.n. Gabriel.

More info could be found on Scotlands People (pay site) and on various subscription sites for censuses.

The marriage cert states that Walter was a Railway Guard, aged 25, living 92 High Street, Portobello (Midlothian)  and Jeannie was a domestic servant, 23, living Mill of Balmaud (?) , King Edward, Aberdeenshire.

In 1891, the Davidsons were in Cumberland:

Abbey Town, Holme Abbey, Cumberland
Andrew Davidson, 26, railway signalman, b. Longtown, Cumberland
Agnes, wife, 27, b. Scotland
Walter, son, 10, b. Scotland

I think that I've found Agnes and Walter in 1881:

Nether Knock, Westerkirk, Dumfriesshire
James Graham, 62, millwright, b. Wamphray
.......
Agnes Potts, granddaughter, unm, 18, domestic servant, b. Westerkirk
Isabella, grdd, 15, b. Kirkpatrick Juxta, Dumfriesshire
Walter Potts, under 1 year, b. Westerkirk

I'll check fir a marriage between agnes and Andrew after this date.

Andrew Davidson, railway signalman, 22, Lochgelly, Fife. Parents - John Davidson, Railway surfaceman and Mary, maiden name, Baty
and
Agnes Potts, domestic servant, 22, Middlebie. Parents - John Potts, general labourer, (deceased) and Janet, m.s Potts.
