Bicester Town, Marriages. St. Edburghs.
« on: Saturday 19 October 13 15:26 BST (UK) »
I have the OxFHS transcripts for St. Edburghs, which go up to 1902.

After 1902, where was the usual place of marriages for Bicester after 1902. (Excepting the registry office).

Or, are there more marriage records for St Edburghs to transcribe.?

Steve. :)
Ives, Stevens, Allen, Smith, King, Wooster, Elwood from Monks and Princes Risborough, Aylesbury, Wendover, Great Missenden, Bledlow, Horsenden, Saunderton, West Wycombe, High Wycombe, Lacey Green, Longwick, Illmer,  Hughenden, Prestwood, The Kimbles, Haslemere, Bradenham, Aston Clinton and more......!!  Plus a whole host of Oxfordshire areas.
Graham, Pimlott, Burgess from Cheshire and Lancashire area.

St Edburgs Church in Bicester is still used for weddings today so I guess there are more registers to transcribe.

As Jack says, St Edburg's church is still in use.

The registers currently in need of transcription, deposited at Oxfordshire History Centre, are:

BOD 031_B_11   marriages 1902-1916

BOD 031_B_12   marriages 1916-1935

BOD 031_B_13   marriages 1935-1941

BOD 031_B_14  marriages 1941-1955

Oxfordshire FHS has scans of these, as part of its Oxfordshire PR scanning programme.

I am currently working on organising transcription of these registers.

Doing lookups in unindexed scans is something we've not yet started doing, but i think Alan, who does the lookups, is happy to include it in the scope of the Search Services.

I hope so, because I've just enquired for the 1952 marriage. ;D

The 1931 marriage was just a bit of confirmation really. ::)
