Hi Anthony

Yes,  there is two options of a location.

in a write up in the book on the History of the Gympie Cemeteries The Tozer Park Road Cemetery is referred to as the NEW cemetery

Gympie's first Cemetery was situated on the corner of King Street and Alfred Street (King St Cemetery)

it also states that in 1969 part of the Tozer Park Cemetery became a residential area and the rest became known as the 'Andrew Fisher Memorial Park'

if you contact the Gympie family history society they may be able to help you further :-)

Thanks Lisa.

It must be the new one he is in, because his death certificate says "Nashville New Cemetery".

Yes that would be the Tozer Park Road cemetery then :-)  I can't say for sure but if you contact the family history society in Gympie they may know where the catholic section was in that cemetery.

Hi Lisa,
I am related to George Thrower who was buried in (I think) Tozer Street cemetery in Gympie, along with his 3 sons - William, Albert and Edwin.  Can you confirm this at all from your book??  I'm guessing their remains were never moved from Tozer Street - his wife Mary was buried in the newer cemetery in Corella Street.  Any info you might have would be appreciated.  Thanks  :)

Hi Nellyburto

there is a few Thrower's in King St & Tozer Park Cemeteries section of my book

Albert R buried 29.12.1885 (adult)  Denomination: CE
George buried 10.05.1886 (adult)  Denomination: CE
George W buried 03.10.1877 (adult)  Denomination: CE
Harry Edwin buried 18.11.1869 (10 weeks)  Denomination: Wes

I guess George W may be William and Harry Edwin is probably Edwin

Thank you Lisa that is appreciated - one more question which Thrower's were buried in the King Street cemetery and which ones were at Tozer Street? Is that info in the book?  Seems a bit sad that they built houses on top of graves or is that not correct.
Anyway I do appreciate your help with this Lisa  :)
