Please can someone help me to find out if

 Thomas Cloney     Birth 1772 in Moneyhore, Wexford, Ireland   
 20 February 1850 in Graiguenamanagh, Kilkenny, Ireland 

is the the father of

my 4GGF John Cloney      Birth 1814 in Carlow , Ireland , Uk
 Death JUN 1880 in 56 Uppermount Street , Tunstall , S-O-T , Staffs , Eng , UK ???

I know that John B1814
Marriage to Minapried KENNEDAY
    1837 5 Oct Age: 23
    Rathvilly, Co. Wicklow
    Roman Catholic. Witnesses Pat Kavanagh and Hanne Curtis----

 is Pat kavanagh any relation to Thomas's GGM Mary Kavanagh ???

RootsIreland have Carlow records coming online some time this year so might find something than.

Otherwise if you can't visit the National Library  http://www.nli.ie/en/parish-register.aspx they will hopefully get these Parish Registers online some day

The Thomas Cloney in the "Wiki" link died in Graiguenamanagh 20th February 1850 which is the same date and place that you give.
 Both born in Moneyhore, Co Wexford.
  I have no idea if he is your ancestor or not but article states that he never got married.
