Is this the family in Census 1901 and 1911
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Meath/Trohanny/Cormeen/1614901/
Michael McMahon Elizabeth Cole
Census 1901
And in 1911
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Meath/Trohanny/Cormeen/720999/
If so they married around 1888 - Couldn't find any marriage entry to match in the civil registration index but on rootsireland.ie (pay site) there is a church marriage for Michael McMahon and an Elizabeth Cole in Co meath in 1888 that is possibly the correct one. However some church marriage records don't give parents or fathers' names so it may not be much help in finding Elizabeth's father's name which might help to find her birth/baptismal record. Could be worthwhile getting it though.
There are some baptisms/births on family search.org for an Elizabeth  Cole in Cavan around that time period you gave. Elizabeth's age varies from 40 in 1901 to 43 in 1911.
Hope this is of some help.

Just a probability based on family naming patterns ie eldest called after fathers side of family and second after mothers side
second boy Edward second girl Catherine or Kate
Which could lead to Edward Cole or Coles and Catherine Mcabe
Who show the following children born in Termon ,Cavan which is a townland in Kilinkere.
Catherine born 13 April 1864 reg Bailiborough 1864 vol 7 page 450
Eliza born 26 Dec 1866 reg 1867 in Bailiborough vol 2 page 454
Terence  1 May 1869 as Coles
Mary 9 Aug 1873.
as civil registration did not start till 1864 there are probably more children born before 1864 and the parents marriage as well.
If you get the marriage posted by anneclare and the fathers name is Edward well you'll know your on the right track.
Terence Cole or Coles appears on the 1901 and 1911 census with his sister Catherine or Kate at Lurganure,Termon,Cavan.
as i say all just probable till you get the marriage for Elizabeth.

Cheers
Dathai.

Dathai,
Many thanks for your info, Elizabeth died in 1957 aged 90, so that birth date would appear perfect..
            Thanks again,
                                    Sean.

Dathai,
Yep that was my gran, domestic servant.. tried roots ireland, got the marriage of Mcmahon/cole, but unfortunately no parents names given, tried to get Eliza birth/baptismal, only one reg in 1869 in Killinkere, and the father named as phil cole, not sure if its the right one, and Bailieboro RC church not given.

Are there anymore siblings of your gran born after 1911 who would match with the naming pattern given above.
