There’s a John Fitzpatrick HICKEY, AIF Service no. 3573A, enlisted at Inverell, 13 Oct 1915, aged 29 years 3 months, born Sydney, mother E HICKEY, of Kogarah as nok. 23 page service file is err…. Colourful.  That chap RTA 28.3.1919

Merlin if you check that would be great. JM very interested in that tree. I am having comuter spelling ones as well "computer" problems or site problems not sure which so delays are occurring.??

I have done some work via BDM on mother Caroline/Coraline very interesting as they say.

If that date is correct then the birth reg possibly appears in early 1919 batch  :-\

Neil, I can't find her in the 1914-1918 registrations under any name variations - given, surname or otherwise.

Did she have any siblings that you know of?

Merlin I know so little about this enigma branch of the family yet they were such good friends with my parents. I don't even know how she is directly related.

My belief is there was some midnight bed flits in two generations and these have led to more headaches than I care to remember getting the tree finalised.

I am closer to getting a handle on her mother/step mother/adopted mother. Caroline/Coraline. She had one set of birth parents and one set of death parents-not the same ??? maybe this will lead me in the right direction ::) Born Caroline DEAN-Married as Coraline Dean-Died as Coraline Hickey.

Did you get a copy of Caroline HICKEY's death notice for 1973 to see if was the correct one with any useful details ?

Yes, I remember all the threads on this family & the MANY names involved  ::)
