1861 Census- Benjamin & Harriet THOMPSON - St Peter Derbyshire
« on: Friday 31 October 14 16:23 GMT (UK) »
Hi All  :)

I am tracking Benjamin Thompson and wife Harriet & their family
They appear in Derby on the 1841 and 1851 census
Benjamin was a silk weaver born circa 1810 in Leek, Staffordshire
It appears some of the older children were also born in Leek, the younger in Derby

I know Harriet, his wife, is living with a son on the 1871 census, still in Derby but by then she is a widow.
I'd like to confirm Benjamin was alive in 1861 and who was living in the family.

I have also posted in the general inquiry regarding presumably their son John Thompson who is quite possibly in New Bailey Prison on the 1861 Census

Thanks for the hand

Found them on another site but on ancestry they have been mistranscribed as 'Chompeon'

Still in Derby - ref. is RG9 - 2501 - 16 - 32.

Looks like Benjamin Thompson died in Jun.qtr.1868 Derby (bc.1809).

Hi Annette

Are you able to give me the listing of the family members in 1861?

Thanks for the hand
(yes I thought this might be Benjamin but was not sure if he was around in 1861)
