could you help me find the parents of eleanor johnson d.o.b 1780 Married to robert surtees d,o.b 1766 she was prob from the gateshead area thankyou BB

On www.familysearch.org there are quite a few possibles! I think this may be a child of Robert & Eleanor, Christopher Surtees first son bap 19th Nov 1809 Washington, Durham (where Robert & Eleanor married)

The Bishops Transcript says mother Eleanor Todd (late Johnson) native of Lamesley so I guess she was married before Robert Surtees to a Johnson - see below **

On familysearch the entry below the baptism for Christopher Surtees is for William Surtees in 1811 Washington, father Robert Surtees mother Eleanor Todd. There is a bap for an Eleanor Todd in Lamesley 1 Apr 1781 child of Robert

** and a possible marriage for her to Henry Johnson 8 May 1802 Washington (source www.freereg.org.uk). Also from freereg a burial in Washington for Henry Johnson in 1805, aged 26.

Their first son Robert bap Washington 1803 (source freereg) shows Eleanor as Todd, native of Lamesley. So it's looking like Eleanor's maiden name was Todd, you will need to check through the registers though to make sure there are no burials of an Eleanor Todd or Johnson
