Medical Term
« on: Friday 12 September 14 12:57 BST (UK) »
Has anybody got any idea what the middle word is? Fever and certified, I get, but I have no idea about the middle word.

Many thanks.

Possibly the length of time the person had the fever - 4? weeks maybe.  Or it could be the signature of the person that certified it.

Agree '4 weeks', that order's the usual format. Certifying person I think would have signed underneath.

Many thanks - that makes sense, though it would have been nice to have known the nature of the fever.

Don't think they bothered too much with definitive diagnosis in 1847  :(.

There was a worldwide epidemic of influenza 1847 - 48 & typhus in Britain 1847 & 1848.
