Lamont / Stewart or Stuart Braemar

 :)My gggrandfather Alexander Lamont married as his second wife Margaret Stuart around 1825 in Braemar, Scotland as his first wife Susan Shaw had died.. Does anyone have further information?

Julia, I was being nosey and had a look at your two posts. I can find the Christie marriage, but can find nothing of this one.
Where did you the the information for this one?

Firstly I don't think you are nosey but I have 2 distinct family branches from Aberdeen but they also are from religious divides , my mother's Catholic family from Braemar [the Lamonts} and Dad's Protestant family ,the Stevensons or more particularly in this instance the Christies from Cluny then Old Machar

I'm sure Mum and dad were not aware of this divide when they were alive

Hi Julia,

I have an ancestry line going back to Lamont's in Braemar, a John Lamont 1700 who mrried a Farquarhasson, my line of the family moved to Forfar in the mid 1800's, is there any connection.

JilaP, Do you know anything about Alexander Lamont & Margarets son James (Jas) Lamomt by chance???

Yes I do have. I even have a copy of a painting done of him in the 1860s in full highland regalia. He was my grandmother Jane's brother. She died in Sandhurst , Victoria, Australia
