hi, havnt been on here in a while, I have now got the marriage certificate for Sarah Morgan to John Morgan Davies, his age was 26 and he was living in 4 West Taff Street, Ferndale (its in porth though) and her age was 21 and she was living in 36 Aberrhondda Road, Porth.
His father was David Davies a collier, and hers John Morgan also a collier. Very confusing I know since she also married a John Morgan Davies!!

If anyone could shed some light on this I'd be very grateful, hit a massive brick wall with this side of my family sadly.

Thanks again, Lyndsey

hi mabel, thank you very much for these! I have found them on the 1911 census but not on the 1901 so its very handy! Sadly still doesn't shed any light on the coal merchant business as her father is just a collier on her marriage cert :(

I have learnt alot about John Morgan Davies' family but sadly none about Sarah's, so im hoping to now dive into that side, hopefully it wont be too difficult!

Looking for the family of Elizabeth Morgan born in 1854 in Middlebrough, Yorkshire, England.  She married a John Emanuel in 1873 in Wales.  Her fathers name on the marriage certificate is listed as Sydney Morgan.  She might have been a teacher or principal in Wales.  Supposedly she came from a prominent family in her town and her father may have owned a coal mine/company. She had a daughter Elizabeth (1875) and possibly a son Ancel (1879) in Wales before heading to America around 1881.
