If you have any names of David's siblings then this might help to tie it down

Found in Lowick PRs - James son of John Small and his wife Mary Grant, living in Lowick, John listed as a husbandman.

I didn't note the date as I was looking for something else but it would be between 1813 and 1820.

I could check the date next week if you think it might be useful.

thank you.

I unfortunately do not have any brothers names. But I do think the doddington baptism is him. It appears his wife was born 1806 (despite all the census details giving her approx year of 1809) and her death cert also. So his age is probably out on all the census' and his death cert too.

If he definately doesnt appear in the Wooler baptisms, then I think I can conclude for now that John Small and Mary Grant are his parents.

Don't you just love Shute Barrington and all that precious extra detail but where does the 'earl' come in?

Well, there you go, something new - I've never heard of Earl before but it's in one of my little books and has been around since 1242  ;D

It can be hard finding marriages if they don't appear on some computer database.  More often than not they married in the bride's parish but lived in the groom's home town where his work was.  Knowing where the bride's parish was can be tricky.

If you let us know which ones you've looked at perhaps we could suggest others.
