Going through old posts and found this one - have you already found the information on this family that you were looking for earlier? Since then lots of Irish resources have come online.

John and Sarah Patton are listed in 1901 census with two sons-
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Cavan/Killeshandra/Main_Street/1064261

Here's the family in 1911 with two more daughters- listed as married 13 years so c1898-
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Cavan/Killashandra/Killashandra_Town/340729

Another online resource is the civil registration index (goes up to 1958 for Co, Cavan and the rest of the Republic of Ireland but only 1921 for Northern Ireland counties). From the index you can get the details needed to order the certificates if you wish.
There's a marriage in 1929 (and birth 1905) for Ida Margaret Patton, birth for Laura E (1909), birth for George (1900), birth for John Herbert (1898), death for a John Patton (1941), etc.

We can't post details of living people here but have a look at Introduction to Irish Records for information about certificates, etc.

Ricky,

I hope this post finds you well.

I have been checking up on some family connections and just found your post.

I am a great grandson of John Patton and Sarah Patton (nee Magee)

I'm trying to bring a family tree together and would be interested in any info you may have.  Obviously, I'd be delighted to impart any info I have on this side.

Cheers

Des Patton

BTW, I believe the reference to Ennisberry should be St. Patrick's Church Of Ireland, Enniskerry. FYI

Hi Des,
Thanks for typing up the info. on the Patton family.

I've been researching the Patton & Clarke family history for a friend.   Laura Evelyn Patton married George Griffin Clarke in 1946.  George Clarke was born in Baltinglass, Co. Wicklow abt 1909, so it makes sense that Laura is buried in that county with him.  I'm guessing her mother Sarah moved there after the death of husband John in 1941 as the 3 of them are buried together.

I've heard stories of George Clarke and Laura Patton's brother having a lot to do with golfing and the Rathfarnham Golf club?  Any knowledge of this or other Patton info you'd share with me?

Anyway, I wanted to say thank you as it validates my research and provides me new burial information for some of the Patton's.

Best wishes,
Julia

I'm afraid Julia only has 1 post so will possibly not get your message- new users usually need 3 posts to send and receive PMs.

Thanks aghadowey.  Will see what the follow-up is.

Julia,

Very interested to know if you've linked John Patton (circa 1864-1941) back to his origins in Co. Donegal, or if you have any info on the school he taught in, in Cavan.

cheers
