Hi Cienna
I think we may be looking for the same person! Thomas robert lewers Nicholl was my grandfather. I'm attempting to get his service number which is proving difficult. He died in Cheltenham in April 1985 and was cremated. I believe he'll have a plaque within the crematorium. If you would like to email me we can pool our information...
Kind regards
Steve

I have looked at the marriage of Thomas Nicholl and Jane Lewers.  Thomas's surname wa transcribed as Nickle, although he signed as Nicholl.
Thomas Nickle, full age, farmer,The Navan, father Samuel farmer
married Jane Lewers, full age, housemaid, The Observatory, Armagh, father Thomas Lewers, deceased, farmer.
I have found Jane on the 1911 census working for the astronomer of Armagh Observatory

This is probably Thomas in 1901, but haven't found him in 1911 yet.

You will note that Jane was born in England.
