The 'cemsearch' website has covered the main cemetery in Colne -- ie you can purchase a list of gravestone details for a particular surname. You will receive details of ALL people with that surname and who they are buried with.

However you are dependant upon there being an actual memorial stone present.

If you click on an initial for your surname of interest --- in the Colne section of the site -- you will see how many people are mentioned with that surname.

Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.

"Colne area of Burnley" is a bit confusing  ???  Colne is a town in its own right with Brierfield and Nelson separating it from the town of Burnley.  Just in case you mean Colne:

www.pendle.gov.uk/info/200032/deaths_funerals_and_cremations/94/bereavement_services/16

Or do you mean Talbot Street in the Colne Road area of Burnley?

Thank you all very much, all very helpful, but not found anything as yet.
Mo, I have just wrote to Pendle council.

Just some notes to help.
My wife has two connections to the area, sketchy details given from a family member, which included that the family moved to the area to work in the cotton mill.
Viewing the 1901 & 1911 we find,
Family 1 ANNESS, head being one Robert Anness aged 54 1911  address as 10 Talbot Street Colne Burnley Lancs, using google earth I see that the address still exists, although am unsure of which property it is..
1901 address as 213 Burnley Rd Colne, again google earth suggests this is also still there, although cannot make out which door is 213..

Family 2 HORSFALL, head being James Horsfall aged 34, 1911 address as 11 Lomas Street Colne, Burnley Lancs. Have not been able to check 1901 census.

I also found the following but unsure if this family is connected, http://www.burnleygallantry.co.uk/gallantry/annessdcm.html

Also would any readers know of any online old maps of area please.

Regards...

Hi Blue-Spirit

You may already have this

Been looking at the 1901/1911 census for Robert Anness and noticed the wife (couldn't make out her Christian name) on the 1911 census but she was older than Robert and was born in Trawden, Lancs (transcribed as Fawden)
There is a death for Mary A Anness in 1907 and a marriage for Robert Anness in 1908 to a Margaret Butterworth/Pilling on LancashireBMD

Mo
Harrison,  Lancs
Phillips, Bucks/Chesh
Holgate, Lancs/Chesh
Etchells, Chesh/Lancs
Schneider, India

Thank you kindly Mo, very helpful.

Looks to me that our Robert had a second marriage, first being Mary A, formally Garnham, bn Suffolk.
Second being Margaret bn Trawden.
I believe this is still the family connection, The death of Mary A Anness in 1907 and a marriage for Robert Anness in 1908 to a Margaret Butterworth/Pilling fits in nicely.
I can now adjust my findings thus far.

I have since had a reply from Pendle Council, " I have searched all our records for the people mentioned with the details provided and unfortunately none show as having been buried with the 6 municipal cemeteries within Pendle.
"
Mo, Are you able to tell me where the death 1907 and the marriage 1908 took place. Is there anywhere else you could suggest I can look for burials, with in this area ?.

Kind regards.
