John Allan Hingley
« on: Sunday 13 April 14 16:09 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I am looking for what happened to John Allan Hingley born about 1871 Cradley Heath Staffordshire England, parents were Barzillai and mary Hingley. I have his outward passage to Halifax 11 April 1903 from Glasgow to Halifax ship Pomeranian. he is listed as a solicitor, he travelled alone.  There are a few trees on Ancestry with him dying during a Prairie fire but no evidence given.

Thank you,
nessa

Thank you for the replies, I have checked the English newspapers but nothing in Canada, as I don't know where the fires happened.  I certainly didn't see the second trip to Canada, I wonder why he went a month later.

Hi nessa

His arrival in Canada on 06 May would suggest he would be found on an outbound passenger list dated about 26 April or so. This time frame would not have allowed enough time for him to travel to Canada and back with a departure date of 11 Apr before leaving again to arrive 06 May. I wonder if he decided not to travel at the earlier sailing? Is there possibly a line through his name on the earlier outbound list?

I was wondering if you have tried to contact any of the tree owners to inquire about John's death?
