Peter Rowe Vincent COMPLETED WITH THANKS

Greetings

I am trying to locate a birth record for Peter Rowe Vincent apparently born Cornwall in 1842.  This person seemingly ended up on the West Coast of the Sth Island of New Zealand where he died at Hokitika in 1927.

Some Public Family Trees have listed his parents as William Vincent and Mary Rowe married in the Parish of Camborne on 04.12.1842.

This cannot be correct.

The UK Census Records of 1851 and 1861 have a William Vincent and Mary Vincent with a son Peter aged 5 years and 15 years respectively which makes his date of birth 1846.

If the Census records are to be believed then Peter Rowe Vincent born 1842 and Peter Vincent born 1846 are two very different people.

Have found nothing on Family Search or Free BDM.

Any help much appreciated.

There appear to be 2  one could be born late 1842 and reg in 1843.  The other born late 1845, so wld not have had his 6th birthday when census was taken

From what I have seen there are only two Peter Vincents born between 1842 and 1846.  If you follow the 1851 and 1861 UK Census the parents of Peter Vincent born 1846 William Vincent and Mary Rowe had a son William H Vincent born in 1844.  I guess this makes the death of Peter Vincent in 1845 and the birth of Peter Vincent in 1846 possible.

Anything is possible in FH. Maybe the same name death is not connected with the birth.

According the the OPC Database the death in March Q 1845 was of a Peter Vincent aged 2 years. Burial on the 1st Feb at Stithians but Residence is described as Gwennap. No parents mentioned. Both these places are in the Redruth RD. Marriage details on the same site indicate that William was a miner and his father Peter was also a miner. Mary's father's name "uncertain".  No baptism for either Peter 1843 or Peter 1845 found on the OPC site either in Parish or non-conformist records.

I am now starting to understand and unravel the two Peter Vincents, both with a father William Vincent and mother Mary Vincent nee Rowe. Of course they were brothers and from the same family.

So that means the first peter born 1843 died age 2yrs. So the second Peter born 1845 should be your man? and they were both born to same parents.  Maybe the informant on his death cert/notice..did not know his true DOB..just a thought. the only way to find out is order the cert/s

I have done exactly that .. ordered a death printout from BDM.  I think for a good number of years / maybe a generation or two these two Peters have been confused properly
