Edmund Snell was born Cornwall 1796i have him on the 1841 census as being the husband of Anne Hawkins Anne wasnt born in the county this is the census with there children he was an inn keeper.

i seen on someones tree that they have Anne Hawkins born in Gloucester and they married 1825 but they have the name as Elizabeth not Anne which confused me....i also found this marriage which i couldnt find on anc. but was on family search site

i am confused as this means Edmund Snell junior aged 15 ....just doesnt fit i thought this was a more probable marriage with it being in Devon im i totally wrong

i think Edmund was married to Elizabeth and then married ann.

thank you so much there was a lot of Edmunds about so i have to find elizabeths maiden name as other folk had it as hawkins ....and do you reckon that marriage to anne hawkins in devon is correct x

yes I do think the annie Hawkins marriage is probably right but you would really need to see  parish record etc. I think the middle name of ellen when baptised was probably Hawkins not Hoskins.

it is not impossible that Elizabeth maiden name ws Hawkins - it has been known that when one wife dies the man has married a sister. it has happened a few ties in my tree - or could be some other relation or of course it could not be Hawkins but some other marriage completely.

Hony must have been involved in the Church ( Parish Clerk?) as he is a Witness at 111 Marriages or so between 1806 and 1822 at the Church where he Married himself.
