Electoral roll covering Camberley, Surrey?
« on: Saturday 12 July 14 16:23 BST (UK) »
Hi, where could I find the above electoral roll?  I'm looking for Thomas Evans, b 1851, a groom last living in Alexandra Place, York Town, Camberley in 1881.  I want to find out where he was living between then and when he died in 1889.

Any help would be wonderful!

Thanks
Val

Hi

Electoral registers for that period can only be searched by address - not by name
Census Information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

Camberley isn't part of the Metropolitan district.  Historic electoral rolls are kept at the Surrey History Centre in Woking. Their telephone number is 01483 518737 and the email address is shs@surreycc.gov.uk.  Electoral rolls for Surrey from 1918 to 1945 can be searched on Ancestry.  York Town, which grew to service the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, is now in Berkshire.    Hope this helps a bit.
