I have a great uncle who died in this hospital in 1915 and wondered if there would be hospital records kept anywhere?

Medical records were kept with the soldier's service record. So it is Ancestry for 1915. Few separate hospital records have survived. The local town/county record office will know. You should also enquire about Coroner records, as there may have been an inquest.

As a 'home' death you can always apply for a death certificate. If he had died on or near a battlefield the death certificate would have been a waste of money; as they just record 'Killed in Action' etc.

Thanks folks, I managed to get hold of his death certificate but didn't think that there might be a coroners report somewhere. That is something I can follow up.

The death certificate will be issued by the Coroner if there was an inquest. So it was only another avenue to research. So I would not spend too much time on it.

There is a Military Cemetery in Fermoy, with WWI graves and a memorial to those buried in the cemetary.
