Quite a long way.  I'm in South Northamptonshire at the moment.   There are some photos online but they are copyrighted.  It is the 1914-1918 war memorial at Northallerton Church. Pte J.Castle (other ranks).  Maybe the library will be able to help pin point exactly where he lived :D

If you look at the enumerator's route for your census areas then that should give you a good idea of the exact location of houses as you can fit them in by looking at better known places.   As you have paid to look at the 1911 image you can see the route free by clicking a tab at the top of the page somewhere.

I've never heard of Melbourne Yard, but looking at what has been said here, it might be in the vicinity of what is the Standard Pub area, I think there may have be a Welbourne Yard, will dig out my books and have a look.

Found it, Melbourne Yard was demolished circa 1921 to make way for the towns cinema, which is now the New Life Baptist Church.

Oh no!!  I was really hoping it was still there.  Thanks for finding it.  I'm hoping there will be some old pictures somewhere.

Dear Ezyka, I am curious when you mention James Castle.
My family's name is Castle, and they lived in Fowler's Yard then moved to Beaconsfield Terrace Northallerton.

Are these your relatives?
There seems to have been another Castle family as well, they were Samuel head, Mary wife, William son, Thomas son, Fanny daughter, george son, James grandson, James grandson.
They were living at 14, Main Street Northallerton in the 1891 census.

Now I don't know if they are related to my family, we have a Samuel, William, Thomas.

yours faithfully
Stuart Castle
