He was educated on Scotland and I checked Scotland's People (free search) and found reference to a 1912 marriage.

Hi

There are some articles in Gloucester newspapers regarding Evan Richard's appointment as Baptist minister in Lydney in 1912. A couple state that he was educated in Glasgow. Doing a search on Scotland's People for a marriage there is one hit in 1912 for an Evan Richards, with spouses first name Jean - could well be your man.

William
Dent (Haltwhistle and Sacriston), Bell and Jetson (Haltwhistle), Postle, Ward, Longstaff, Purvis, Manners, Parnaby and Hardy (Co. Durham), Kennedy and McRobert (Banffshire), Reid(Bathgate), Watson (Wemyss), Graham (Libberton), Sandilands (Carmichael), Munro (Dingwall)

MirSuperstar,
It was the Gloucester Journal newspaper item about his Glasgow education that led me to check Scotland's People.

Re newspapers, have you had a look at Welshnewspapers on line? A number of references to a Rev Evan Richards, but usually Tonypandy rather than Ton Pentre (the Gloucester Journal articles refer to him being "recruited" from Ton Pentre. So, might not be "your" Evan though they are not all that far from each other.i.

Gwych i glywed wrthoch chi - PM ar y ffordd/Great to hear from you - PM on the way
