Another Sutton lookup please

Well, thank you for looking at out for me. As you say it is a bit iffy so I will leave that one out for now.

In the meantime I have found son George who was baptised 30 Oct 1825.

In the 1881 census he is married to an Elizabeth who was born in Derby(?)
Two sons born in Whitchurch, Hampshire; George James 1864 and Herbert Moore Born 1866.

Maybe the 1871 census would tell us where George and Elizabeth were living and her age.

Sarah MOORE was baptised at St John the Baptist, Frome, on the 17th August 1794.
George SUTTON was baptised 6 months earlier in February of 1794

Her parents were James & Ann MOORE from FreeReg

The 1871 is a bit of a surprise .
George and his wife Elizabeth are in Whitchurch running the Union Workhouse!

Ann R Woolyer Widow nurse 46 nurse and assistant St Pancras

They are also there in 1861 but without the children.
The 1851 is confusing -Frome Workhouse
George Sutton 25 Occupation at Workhouse schoolmaster unmarried rank or profession before entering workhouse watchmaker journeyman born Frome

He also seems to be there in 1841 but no occupation and age 15.

The only marriage in Somerset is at Wincanton Sep 1856 to an Elizabeth Butler 5c 859.
In 1851 she is working at Frome Lunatic Asylum
Elizabeth Butler 25 servant at Asylum Woodlands Frome

I had a try at finding the marriage for James and Sarah but had no luck.

I am not sure if James did Military Service between 1841 and 1851; maybethat would help in finding Sarah.

I've had a look and like you can't be sure which marriage is them.
I would go for James Sutton and Sarah Simmons mar 1851 Clifton 11 343 which is the outskirts of Bristol which would make them 29 and 23 when they married and just married on the 1851 census.
 I suppose though that another contender would be at Chapel le Frith Dec 1844 19 446 to Sarah Plant and they'd be 22 and 16 which is a bit young .
Sorry but you may have to get the certificate.
