There are Pentland Hills in Victoria - but I doubt you'd use it as a place where cousins were staying - they are hills not  town. (that would be Bacchus March or Myrniong  - closest places.)      :-\

Don't know about other states.
Gaunt, Ransom, McNally, Stanfield, Kimberley. (Tasmania)
Brown, Johnstone, Eskdale, Brand  (Dumfriesshire,  Scotland)
Booth, Bruerton, Deakin, Wilkes, Kimberley
(Warwicks, Staffords)
Gaunt (Yorks)
Percy, Dunning, Hyne, Grigg, Farley (Devon, UK)
Duncan (Fife, Devon), Hugh, Blee (Cornwall)
Green, Mansfield, (Herts)
Cavenaugh, Ransom (Middlesex)

Hello Gadget,

Thanks for looking.

Pentland is a town in north-western Queensland. It is located in between Charters Towers and Hughenden.

Barbara married soon after her arrival - her 2nd husband lost his wife on their voyage to Queensland - and the family settled in the Bulimba and later Nundah areas, not far out of Brisbane. At this time I have nothing to connect the family to Pentland but I will search for cousins in that area.
