Hi  Ann,

Family of Barbara Conway are  parents Michael and mother Mary Rudddy married in 1872,her mother is living with them in the 1901 census in Kilboy,Kilcommon,Co Mayo. Michael Conway's father was Terence this is anotated beside his name in Census, you can look at Griffiths Valuation List of Kilcommon and see there was a Terence in Kilboy.

Bartley Deane his parents James Deane and Cecelia Scanlon this family is also in the same place Kilboy, they married in 1866,now Bartley is not in the 1901 census. The family shows James Deane father wife Bridget, and children. The children listed are of James Deane and Bridget Calvey, therefore Cecila Scanlon must have died and James remarried,in 1874. In 1911  Bartley is living with his father and family.

Hope this helps.

Thanks that was great help.  , helped by showing me. (As I have not research Ireland for years, gave up,) that they have records,,  thought they like to keep them secret lol

I looked at the census records 1901 and 11. , started doing my head. As in ten yr his age jumped 14 yr and she in ten yrs aged 20 yr. I wouldn't be happy with that

Need to find Irish BDM. Now.

Thanks again

Ann

I have some details on Michael Conway (dob 1844), married to Mary Ruddy (dob 1849)
I found  11 children as follows:

Martin (1873-1963)
Honor (1876 -?)
Judith (Julia) (1876-?) (may have been twins?)
Terence (1878-?)
Barbara (1882-1961)
Patrick James (Bartley) (1915-2000)
James (1917-2005)
Ann (1919-2004)
Celina Philomena (1920-1998)
Mary (1914-?)
Bridget (1921-?)

I hope this is of use to you!
Kind regards

Also, ages on census forms at that time did tend to vary wildly, but I believe that was people realised that by adjusting their ages (which would have been hard to prove at the time) people would qualify for pensions/ or allowances of some kind.
