Thank you  osprey , i found this family group as well , on the marriage certificate it says that georges father john was a slate miner , he had died before george got married ,george named his first daughter catherine after my grans mother and i thought that their second child jane who died as a baby might have been named after his mother , my father was named edwin , but the names you gave me comes up on every search ,could it be that john changed his work ? around about the time between 1891 and 1901 the penrhyn slate mines had problems with the workers and many left and walked all the way to south wales to find work, the women and children and elderly vertually starved a lot did because they shut the mines , they might of employed different people and john might have got a new job all speculation of course and no way of finding out, it was my grandmother who said that george came from penrhyndeudraeth to a cousin , if georges father was a cobbler and lived in caernarvon then george might of just thought he came from there , he must of been quite young when he left ? if it is him on the 1891 census in south wales , its too bad but i might not find george or his family , anyway thank you for all your help  :)

Welcome to Rootschat, Danzine!  ;D

It is possible to send a person message (pm) but you need to make 3 posts first. So you could just reply to this and say hello. Once you're ready to go, the pm option should appear on the screen.
