I am not really :(
I guess I have mixed him up with another david,
so in your opinion Charlotte and Benjamin are the real parents?
Thanks!

Best thing to do Lewys would be to get the marriage certificate for David Griffiths. This should give you his father's name and occupation and make sure you are on the right track.

best of luck

Maria  :)

I agree. Get the marriage certificate and then come back here, and we will help you further.

David Griffiths is such a common name it is easy to get on the wrong track.

Best wishes,

Rhosgoch

How certain are you that David's father is Richard Griffiths?

In all the censuses David gives his place of birth as "Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire", and is a mariner in several.

I have found a David Griffith baptised in Llangynnor, Carmarthen on 5 May 1844 (born 5 April 1844), son of Benjamin and Charlotte Griffith, boatman. In the 1851 census for St Peters, Carmarthen the family is living in The Quay, St Peters. David listed as "born Carmarthen". HO107;Piece2473;Folio162;Page13.

I think this is very likely to be your David Griffiths.

Benjamin Griffith, Llangain married Charlotte Jones, Llangunnock(Llangynog) on 8 November 1829 at Llangain.

Glad it worked out. Thanks for letting us know.

I have looked for a baptism for Benjamin and Charlotte, but without any luck.

Best wishes,

Rhosgoch.

Thank you ,
I am looking for them on diffrent census ,
Just to query something you mentioned Benjamin as a boatman but on the census I was looking at he was listed as a coal merchant?
