NICOLAAS VAN DER MEULEN

I am trying to find the parents of Nicolaas van der MEULEN, a teacher who was murdered "New Year's River before 17 Jan 1835" according to the Cory Library. 

He married Elisabeth ROUX (her 3rd husband) supposedly in Uitenhage 3 October 1819. 

I have been to the Cory Library and I have searched high and low and also contacted the current Nicolaas Johannes Petrus van der MEULEN (architect) and his family's researcher, but I have found nothing.  I don't even know when he arrived in South Africa.  :'(
