Evans of Arklow

I am researching the family line of Edward Evans (1801-1852)a rent and rates collector of Main Street, Arklow. The information that I have about his birth and death dates is by word of mouth but I have been unable to find evidence to confirm it. If anyone can help I would be very grateful.

Thanks for your suggestion, Our Gang, but the Edward Evans families on your link to FamilySearch are unrelated to the Evans family of Arklow, Co. Wicklow. I already have quite a lot of information about Edward's descendants and extended family but I am stumped in my attempts to explore his details. There are Evans families in Greystones, Delgany and Wicklow town but these are not directly related to the Arklow lot. They are a Church of Ireland family but the parish records were destroyed in the explosion and fire in the Four Courts, Dublin in 1922.

did he work for the council or a private land lord they should be able to help you

Thank you, Rathmore, I will do as you suggest. The evidence suggests that he worked as a rent collector for the Carysfort Estate.
