From
http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/ Joshua Leathem has 2 entries in 1864, both are in the townland of Ballymacateer with house offices and a very small amount of land but the house is valued at £1.15 compared to the lowest 10 shillings . it has a map reference 25a which shows a L shaped property. There are a couple of L shaped properties on Google maps 2 kilmetres SWof Magheralin on the Dromore Road, to the west of the junction with Springfield Road, and on the north side of the Dromore road say 300 metres from the junction. I think the reason the property has two entries because of the Landlord being two people Henry and Hugh Mercer. I did not find a second entry in the list for the townland. So it may be your homestead still exists.
You ask about others living in Magheralin , lets say under 1000 in 1864 in the townland of Ballymacateer there are over 70. I extracted these from
