I’ve found a bit more about Mildred’s 2nd illegitimate child, Lucy. Now I have 2 marriages for her, and more. Her 2nd husband kept a pub!
We previously had just her baptism  03 Dec 1815 Addlethorpe: Lucy, Father Occupation: pauper Lincolnshire, England from freereg & family search. Freereg gives the church as St Nicholas & Reg # 19 with mother Mildred Seubright & family search has a different spelling of the place Addelthorpe and calls her Lucy Leabright mother Mildred Leabright.
We also had Anne Cole’s transcription of the bastardy recognizance http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/eng-lincsgen/2000-10/0971390047
dated 2 July 1815. Mother: Mildred SIBBARID of Addlethorpe singlewoman. Putative father: John WRIGHT of Ingoldmells Carpenter. William Wright of Wainfleet St Marys Carpenter was his surety. [LQS A/1/412/88]
I’ll put more about John in another post.
It looks like these are Lucy’s 2 marriages:
m1: 12 Nov 1839 JACKSON John Whitehead son/ John Whitehead Lucy dau/ John Lincolnshire Wainfleet Church: All Saints from freereg & Lincs to the Past. Freereg spells Lucy’s name as WRIGHT Lucy Scabright, while family search has it as Wright Lucy Seabright.
m2: 14 May 1844 DONNOR, Francis son/ Francis, JACKSON Lucy widow dau/ John Lincolnshire Wainfleet Church: All Saints from freereg & Lincs to the Past. Freebmd gives Jun Qtr 1844 Donnor Francis, Jackson Lucy Spilsby Reg Dist Vol 14 page 1077.

Freebmd also has her death (probably).
d: Sep Qtr 1884 Donner Lucy 69y Downham Reg Dist Vol 4b page 249 ED

Her first husband, like Lucy, seems to have been illegitimate (John Whitehead Jackson?):
bp: 8 Sep 1822 John Whitehead illeg son/ Margaret Jackson Lincolnshire, England Wainfleet St Mary # 181 from freereg & from Lincs to the Past baptisms: Par/ 1/ 3 p. 17/ 57 online p. 23 on paper
bu: 01 May 1842 JACKSON John Whitehead 24y Lincolnshire, England Wainfleet Church: All Saints # 530 from freereg.

About her 2nd husband:
Notes about Francis & the pub are at  http://www.norfolkpubs.co.uk/norfolkw/welney/welnrua.htm
Spelling of his surname is different.
More about the pub is at http://pubshistory.com/Cambridgeshire/Wisbech/RutlandArms.shtml and http://www.closedpubs.co.uk/cambridgeshire/wisbech.html
I can’t find any baptism for him with father Francis. Nor can I find his burial.
I might post about him in Cambridgeshire and Norfolk too.

Any help much appreciated!

I forgot to add that through freecen 1861 and family search "England and Wales Census, 1871," index and images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/KD8K-83G : accessed 04 Apr 2013), Francis Donner, 1871.
at Walpole St Peter, Cambs
Donner, Francis was b about 1820 in Wrangle Lincs.
I can't find a Frank or a Francis, though, baptised there about then with father Frank or Francis.

There's more about his pub, occupations and family at http://blacksmiths.mygenwebs.com/norfolk-1.php#D

I don't have his burial, but I think I do have his death from freebmd:
Mar Qtr 1873 Donner Frank 53y Wisbech Reg Dist Vol 3b page 419

"Also on that page and on freereg is the burial of a William Sutton 25 Jun 1796. This gives no age or relationship.  I can find a burial for a Maria well after that in Uffington: Maria Sutton 72y 17 Apr 1816 on freereg. However, I can also find a burial for a William Sutton 62y 11 Jun 1812 Uffington on freereg and Lincs: Par/ 1/ 1 p. 15/ 16 http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/RecordDisplayTranscript.aspx?oid=550562&iid=204206"

I now think that neither of them went to Uffington, as I've found a second marriage for Maria in Thorney.
It looks like William was buried 1796 in Gedney Hill, as above. Then Maria went back to Thorney and married again: William Wilkinson widower Maria Sutton widow 03 Dec 1801 Thorney Cambridgeshire England St Mary & St Botolph # 130 from freereg

This then looks like Maria's burial, back in Gedney Hill but abode Thorney:
Maria wife/ William Wilkinson abode Thorney 17 Mar 1805 Gedney Hill Lincolnshire England from freereg and Lincs to the Past General Register Gedney Hill Par/ 1/ 3 p. 38/ 44. http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/RecordDisplayTranscript.aspx?oid=552369&iid=297136
Freereg also gives the church: Holy Trinity

I’ll put more about John in another post.
about John:
I think I have his baptism:
7 Apr 1788 WRIGHT John son/ William Wright & Mary (née SIMPSON) Lincolnshire, England Wainfleet St Mary from freereg, family search and Lincs to the Past Baptisms & Burials Par/ 1/ 2 p. 10/ 34 http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/RecordDisplayTranscript.aspx?oid=528427&iid=189929
As before, I have his marriage:
John Wright Elizabeth SNOWDEN (née SCAWTHORPE)1815 Ingoldmells Lincolnshire England from freereg, family search and Lincs to the Past marriages Par/ 1/ 5 p. 4/ 10 # 4 http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/RecordDisplayTranscript.aspx?oid=782176&iid=268530 Freereg has the church as St. Peter & St. Paul. John was a bachelor and Elizabeth was a widow.
I have more about Elizabeth: next post.
This dovetails nicely with the bastardy recognizance above.
William and Mary had other children in Wainfleet St. Mary too.
I can't find what happened after that to John.
Elizabeth, as will be seen in my next post, seems to have been buried in nearby Winthorpe in 1848.
There are many John Wright and Elizabeths about. I've been slowly eliminating them as possibilities. In particular, from freereg, family search, freecen, Lincs and some World Connect sites, there seems to be one John Wright in Wainfleet St. Mary, also a carpenter, who had at least 3 children there after marrying Elizabeth HARNESS/ HARNIS/ HARRIS of Northolm as a bachelor in 1816. Elizabeth then seems to have been buried there in 1821. John, widower, then seems to have married Sarah Shaw, spinster there in 1822. Sarah seems then to have buried there in 1864. John, widower, then seems to have married Emma GRESSWELL née HUNN there in 1865. John seems then to have been buried at 92y there in 1890. His death is also on freebmd Spilsby registration district vol 7a page 335.

I can't find a baptism for that John, or a burial for mine! That John, from his burial age, seems to have been born about 1798, another 10 years after mine. It's all very confusing.  ???

Just as a sideline, too, there seems to have been another John and Elizabeth in Wainfleet St. Mary. One of the children, Richard, baptized in Wainfleet St. Mary, was baptized in Oct 1819 to a John Wright and Elizabeth with a father as a banker, unlike the others who had a father as a carpenter. It's almost impossible for him to have been to our Wainfleet St. Mary couple if he and they were baptized soon after birth, as they had Thomas baptized in May 1819.

about Elizabeth WRIGHT was SNOWDEN née HAWTHORPE/ SCAWTHORPE/ SCAWTHORP/ SCRAWTHORPE/ SCRAWTHORP/ SLAWTHORPE/ SLAWTHORP/ SCAUTROP/ SCATRUP, maybe even SCUTHORP/ SCUTHORPE or SCORTHRETH/ SCORTRETH/ SCORTRICK, wife of John Wright as above: (backed up by family search and a combination of some World Connect sites):
This seems to be her baptism:
14 Aug 1771 Elizabeth dau Willm & Ann (née BOYES) , Mumby Lincolnshire England from freereg and Lincs General Register Par/ 1/ 2 p. 22/ 42 online http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/RecordDisplayTranscript.aspx?oid=511869&iid=384176 Lincs image looks to me like SLAWTHORP. Freereg has her as Hawthorpe and gives the church as St. Thomas of Canterbury. (marriage of William and Ann, bach & spinster, 20 May 1767 Hogsthorpe from freereg and Lincs marriages Par/ 1/ 5 # 33 p. 7/ 32 online http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/RecordDisplayTranscript.aspx?oid=513578&iid=389527 )
her 1st marriage:
Thos Snowden widower Elizabeth Scawthorpe spinster 27 May 1796 Ingoldmells Lincolnshire England from freereg & Lincs Par/ 1/ 3 # 31 p. 4/5 online. Freereg gives the church as St. Peter & St. Paul.
her 2nd marriage: to John Wright bachelor as above as a widow (on the same page as the marriage of Francis GARRIT/ GARRITT and Rebecca SNOWDEN  4 Mar 1816 # 5 bach & spinster) http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/RecordDisplayTranscript.aspx?oid=782176&iid=268530
her death probably: Mar Qtr 1848 Wright Elizabeth Spilsby Reg Dist Vol 14 p 483 from freebmd
her burial probably: 04 Jan 1848 Elizabeth Wright 78y Winthorpe Lincolnshire England # 153 from freereg & Lincs Burials Par/ 1/ 7 p. 14/ 56 online page 20 paper http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/RecordDisplayTranscript.aspx?oid=628867&iid=140914 Freereg gives the church as St. Mary.

Here's the confusion: I believe she's on the 1841 census in Winthorpe with presumably her daughter, Rebecca GARRAT/ GARRITT/ GARRIT/ GARBED/ GARRAD née SNOWDEN, Rebecca's husband Francis and their children. I can find 2 children, Thomas & George, born to Thomas SNOWDEN and Elizabeth in Ingoldmells, but not Rebecca. Nor does she seem to have been born to Thomas SNOWDEN and his previous wife, Susanna Snowden née MOOR/ MOORE. Maybe she was born to Susanna as she died?

marriage of Thomas & Susanna: Thos Snowden Susanna Moor 29 Jul 1784 Saltfleetby Lincolnshire England St. Clements from freereg & Lincs marriages Par/ 1/ 1 # 20 p. 6/ 10 http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/RecordDisplayTranscript.aspx?oid=544836&iid=432694 (with I think Thomas's sister Cathrine Snowden marrying a John Moor 26 Nov 1782 same page) both single
burial: Sus wife/ Thos Snowden 14 Jan 1794 Ingoldmells Lincolnshire England Par/ 1/ 2 p. 9/ 15 from Lincs Baptisms & Burials http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/RecordDisplayTranscript.aspx?oid=782036&iid=268323 (Thomas Snowden & Elizabeth's son Thomas's baptism the same page, with Elizabeth as late SCROTOFE?)
Any help greatly appreciated  ???

Looks like SCOTROP to me :)  close enough to SCAWTHORPE.

Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

Re: Dickinson Family of John Dickinson & Mildred Sebright & their ancestors
« Reply #34 on: Sunday 15 June 14 21:26 BST (UK) »
I think I have more re John Seabright, Dorothy Bucknall and their birth families. This is just, though, from what I can gather online and what seems likely from historical maps e.g. on family search, as being in the general neighbourhood. I would love some further ideas and comments.
The online ones are family search, freereg and Lincs to the Past:
Hogsthorpe Par/ 1/ 2 general register http://www.lincstothepast.com/General-register/600899.record?pt=T
Addlethorpe Par/ 1/ 2 general register http://www.lincstothepast.com/General-register/627925.record?pt=T
Addlethorpe Par/ 1/ 3 burials http://www.lincstothepast.com/Baptisms-and-burials/816952.record?pt=T
I’ll talk about Dorothy here and John in my next post, as I worry my posts are too long for comfort.
Dorothy:
bp: Dorothy dau/ John & Anne Bucknall May 1711 Hogsthorpe Lincs: 7 May at St Mary from freereg & 20 May Par/ 1/ 2 p. 7/ 21 Lincs to the Past
m: 2 Jul 1742 John Seabright Dorothy Bucknell Addlethorpe Lincs: St Nicholas from freereg & Par/ 1/ 2 p. 13/ 29 Lincs to the Past
bu: 4th ? Apr 1781 Dorothy wife of John Sibright Addlethorpe Lincs Par/ 1/ 3 p. 6/ 17 Lincs to the Past

Dorothy’s parents:
m: John Bucknal Ann GREEN 14 Jan 1701/ 2 Hogsthorpe Lincs: St Mary from freereg & Par/ 1/ 2 p. 4/ 21 Lincs to the Past
Ann BUCKNAL née GREEN seems to have been bu 10 Nov 1721 Hogsthorpe Par/ 1/ 2 p. 11/ 21 online on the 1st of the 2 pages shown http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/RecordDisplayTranscript.aspx?oid=600899&iid=389386 & on freereg & family search.
I also think I may have found John Bucknal's parents and siblings, and possibly his grandfather and great-grandfather, but would love to know if there's a way of verifying this:
John Bucknal may have been the 2nd child of:
William Bucknal and Dorathy DICKIFON (DICKISON) (another DICKINSON?) m 25 Jul 1667 Hogsthorpe Par/ 1/ 1 p. 52/ 64 online http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/RecordDisplayTranscript.aspx?oid=599996&iid=388863 also on family search and freereg.
William was bu 30 Nov 1673 Hogsthorpe p. 55 of that register on the first of the 2 pages shown at http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/RecordDisplayTranscript.aspx?oid=599996&iid=388870
It looks then like Dorothy remarried 23 Nov 1674 Edward ASKEW Dorothy BUCKNALL Hogsthorpe (see that same link but the 2nd of the 2 pages, plus family search and freereg.
She was probably then bu Apr 1698 Dorothy ye wife of Edward AFCOUGH Hogsthorpe p. 63 of the same register http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/RecordDisplayTranscript.aspx?oid=599996&iid=388890 also on freereg.
Dorothy's 2nd husband Edward Askew seems to have been buried ?01 Nov 1704 Hogsthorpe Edward Afkew Labourr  Par/ 1/ 2 p. 5/ 21 online the 2nd of the 2 pages shown http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/RecordDisplayTranscript.aspx?oid=600899&iid=389375 also as Edward A Kow on freereg.
Dorothy seems to have had 2 children with William Bucknall: Thomas bp 21 Jan 1668/ 9, & our John who m Ann Green. (bp 28 Oct 1670).
Using that same register, it seems that Dorothy had these ch with Edward Askew:
Elizabeth dau of Edward Afkew bp 26 Sep 1675 p. 55 bu 17 Jan 1681/ 2 Elizabeth, Daughter of Edward & Dorothy Afcough p. 58
Anne ye Daughter of Edward & Dorothy Afkew bp 25 Mar 1677 p. 56 & family search &
Edward Son of Edward & Dorothy Afkew bp 19 Jan 1678/9 p. 56 & family search. d 15 Jun 1679 Edward Son of Edward & Dorothy Askew Hogsthorpe family search bu Par/ 1/ 1 p. 57/ 64 online from Lincs
Mary, Daughter of Edward Afkew (poor?) bp 2? Oct 1702 Hogsthorpe Par/ 1/ 2 p. 5/ 21 online 1st of the 2 pages shown, from Lincs & family search

It's William Bucknall's baptism that I may have found, but on far shakier ground. It's from family search alone, as it's too early for Lincs to the Past or freereg in Skendleby. There was another born in Coningsby, but that's much further away than Skendleby, which is just on the other side of the Willoughby group from Hogsthorpe.
A William Bucknall was chr 16 Nov 1634 William Bucknall son of John Bucknall "England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975," index, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.2/9HYD-YNL : accessed 14 Jun 2014), William Bucknall, 16 Nov 1634; citing SKENDLEBY,LINCOLN,ENGLAND, reference ; FHL microfilm 504757.
That same batch number C03146-2 gave me many children to a John Bucknall, who maybe had William's father John chr 28 Nov 1607, who may be the John who then had some of those children christened.
Does anyone have any way to check this out please?

I've kept exploring about Bucknalls, and am not yet convinced that William came from Skendleby. There are others closer e.g. in Anderby. Hogsthorpe itself is of course far more likely.
Could someone else please check this for me?
I've found it really difficult to read Hogsthorpe Par/1/1 General Register early on. I found this, though:
http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/RecordDisplayTranscript.aspx?oid=599996&iid=388829
It's page 38 online, the first of the 2 pages, towards the bottom:
Mary Dickinfon daughter of Robert was baptised the? 18. January (1634/ 1635?)
Anno Domi 1635
Willm? Bucnal? & Margret? Hurianall was? married 28th of May
If this really is a William Bucknal being married, it could be my William's parents and there could be some christenings nearby. The Mary Dickinson could also perhaps be a sister of Dorothy.
Am I imagining things? It's really hard to read.
