If Josiah Eltham was your grandfather, that makes you my third cousin once removed.

have recently found a newspaper article on FindMyPast from 1922 which mentions Alice Oldham and says she was a professional singer, but had gone to Australia by 1922.

Just revisiting my old thread
I mentioned a passenger list from 1960 in an earlier post, which showed Josiah Edwin returning to Australia after a visit to Britain The ship was the Fair Sky departing 8th October 1960. The address he had been staying at was 73 Westerham Avenue, Edmonton, London N9.
I had wondered why he was visiting and who. He was travelling on his own and 73 years old, so must have been an important reason to visit.
Is it possible to find out who lived at that address in 1960, please

Thanks - I forgot to put the most important bit in !

Now I've found probate for Edith Florence Jakeman, she was still at that address when she died in 1980

I decided to start a new thread in London and Middlesex board about this address and immediately got a reply by from Johnhood, for which I'm very grateful

He told me that the occupants of that address were  Albert H & Edith F Jakeman who were there in 1959 and still there in 1963. Albert was the son Josiah's sister Florence Janie Jakeman nee Eltham. I had wondered about visiting rellies but had lost track of Albert.

But still I wonder what prompted the visit, there must have been an important family event. Florence Janie and her husband emigrated to Australia in 1957, I haven't got a death for her or her husband Thomas Albert Jakeman.

That's strange, my posts have come in the wrong order  ???

Anyway I have Edith's death now, but not Albert's, maybe he went to Australia later.
