sweet,medlicott familys
« on: Thursday 28 October 10 00:23 BST (UK) »
Hi,
im researching my family tree and im trying to find out more information about some of the names ive come across.

Does anyone know any information about  a family of john sweet?or of the medlicott family?
John sweet was born in somerset in 1815 and moved to tredegar to work as a miner.

He got married four times and between 1838 and 1857 had ten children ,one of whom, his daughter eliza, married william medlicott in 1863.

Eliza and william had 6 children 1864 and 1882 one of which was my great grandmother
louisa.

They all lived in the dukestown and sirhowy area of Tredegar.

If anyone knows anything about these names any  help would be much appreciated thanks.

Sweet(Somerset,England)
Donovan, Field(Cork, Ireland)

Hello, I'm researching MEDLICOTT; one of William and Eliza's children is my great-grandfather. I struggled for over twenty years to find William's marriage, as the church register recorder 'Medlicott' each time it appeared, but the marriage certificate (copy attached of both) has 'Meredith' there!
I look forward to discussing our respective research with you. I've not posted to Rootschat before, so am learning this as I go along!

It's always interesting to find someone with an  interest in the same area.
I look forward to sharing  information with you.

Hi,
Is there more than one sweet family bible?
I saw one a few years ago belonging to someone else in the family.
