In 1857 Richard Peck, 44, of 6 Carlton Place, Bethnal Green underwent a poor law examination.

He married present wife Elizabeth at Croydon Church "about 15 years ago".
5 children: Richard 11, Eliz 9, James 7, ??? 3 and an infant 12 weeks.
When he was 15 years old Richard hired himself to D. (or Dr) Lashmore (?) of Croydon as groom at £15 a year - spent 6 and a half years there (?).

There is also mention of 6 and a half years at 6 Carlton Place/42 Cudworth St [in Bethnal Green] so I am not sure whether he also spent the same amount of time in his Croydon position.

There may have been an order of removal to Croydon.  The writing is very unclear.

So are we saying we think this is the right family? If so, why the different name - how certain are you that she is Jane Louisa? The birth place is also wrong if she was born Southwark, Bethnal Green is the wrong side of the river.

I don't see any connection between the names Jane Louisa and Sarah Jane. Especially as she was known as Lucy in one of the censuses
